Interview with DJL Jonathan Lim, Malaysia’s largest social media influencer

We’ve been in desperate need of the opportunity to interview world renowned social star and DJL motivational speaker Jonathan Lim for some time now. When his agent finally called and assigned us, we were in seventh heaven. Then we realized that this should be a Zoom interview to comply with the Covid restrictions … but we were still excited.

Here’s what the 37-year-old multimillionaire said about how to be successful, his free time and his loving life!

DJL Dato Jonathan Lim Interview

Q: Dota, Jonathan Lim … we are a little overwhelmed. It’s so good that you are with us.

A: Oh please; it’s good to be here and talk to you.

Q: So how are you? What’s the news? What are you working on?

A: Wow! One at a time! I’m fine, thank you. We have been working very hard lately on investing in small businesses in Malaysia. And what’s new, I’ve added a number of talks to my YouTube channel that you can check out if you want to learn about IT, telecommunications and other business areas. But my Facebook page got out of hand. If you’re going to follow me, this is a great place to start.

Q: This is great. And we are very sorry that I suppressed you, but we are a little carried away. We’ve been monitoring your YouTube success closely for several months now. Your subscribers are growing rapidly.

A: I think people need my advice. Like … If you were desperate to start your own IT firm but didn’t have confidence, my motivational speeches are exactly what you need to be successful in business. People can get better quickly, but sometimes they need someone with that kind of faith to do it. I give them this faith. They keep coming back.

Q: Hahaha! If they keep coming back, that’s a good sign. You have recently been seen working with Community Policing in Malaysia; what this project is about. It doesn’t seem to fit into your regular portfolio.

A: Oh yes, security projects. Malaysia has a high crime rate that most people don’t know about. For every 100 thousand people, there are 81 robberies. This is a lot compared to other countries. So Social Security and PDRM contacted and they wanted to invest in a one-touch call help desk. If you have this device installed, it can call for help without the knowledge of the attacker. You can also use the app to call for help in the event of a home burglary.

Q: Sounds like a worthwhile project …

A: Absolutely. I like to focus on projects that help people. This is what got me started with a motivational speech because I know I help people when I do it. Why do we do something if it doesn’t help others?

If we all worked like this, the world would be a better place. DJL Dato Jonathan Lim, thank you for joining us and we hope you will succeed in the future.
