Submitted your resume and got an interview? Great!
Its time that the recruiters know you’re potential. But before that lets look through
what needs to be done before an interview.
Go through your own resume. Yes, you know it by heart but you never know what attracted the recruiters so go through it again and create your own possible questions and have an answer for it
If you’ve mentioned certain skills, make sure you are confident about it and you didn’t add in that information just to brag. It’s a big turn off!
Don’t get nervous. Breathe! You might tend to forget what you have prepared when you become nervous and moreover the recruiters don’t want to see you be nervous throughout an interview.Don’t manipulate what you are. You don’t have to impress the recruiters by being someone you are not. Creating a false impression can leave you with NO JOB.
Be early but not earlier than 10 minutes. You don’t want to look too eager or pushy for the job. If you arrive earlier than 10 min, wait in the car or a café nearby.
Do a research on what the company you are applying for does. Chances are you can impress the recruiters by asking a question relating to what the company is doing when you are given the chance to shoot questions at them.
Some recruiters may not bring your documents along with them though you’ve submitted them. Have enough copies of your documents and certificates, you do not have to run around photo copying them at the last minute.
Last but not the least, get some good rest the night before the interview. You need to look good the next morning! You cannot walk in with baggy eyes and go yawn in front of them.
